Taking care of your Jade Bonsai

Jade bonsai, with its symbolic significance and resilient nature, makes for a captivating addition to any living space. In this guide, we'll explore the essential care instructions for maintaining a healthy and flourishing jade bonsai.

Light Requirements:

Ensure your jade bonsai receives plenty of bright, indirect sunlight. Jade plants thrive in full sun but can tolerate partial shade. A sunny windowsill or a well-lit spot indoors is ideal.

Watering:

Jade bonsai prefers a thorough yet infrequent watering schedule. Allow the top inch of the soil to dry out before watering. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it's crucial to strike a balance. During the growing season (spring and summer), water more frequently, and reduce watering in the dormant period (fall and winter).

Fertilization:

Feed your jade bonsai with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer (avoid urea or DAP, use organic fertilizer only) during the growing season. Apply fertilizer every 4-6 weeks, following the recommended dosage.

Pruning and Shaping:

Regular pruning is essential for maintaining the desired shape of your jade bonsai. Pinch back new growth to encourage branching and shape the tree according to your artistic vision. Use clean, sharp tools to avoid damaging the plant.

Repotting:

Repot your jade bonsai every 2-3 years, preferably in the spring. Use fresh bonsai soil and prune the roots moderately to encourage healthy growth. Repotting helps refresh the soil and provides the plant with renewed vigor. (We provide bonsai soil mix and do repotting for you as well)

Pest Management:

Keep an eye out for common pests like mealybugs and spider mites. If infestations occur, treat them promptly with insecticidal soap or neem oil. Contact us for precise assistance.

Indoor vs. Outdoor Care:

While jade bonsai can thrive both indoors and outdoors, provide adequate protection from extreme weather conditions. If kept indoors, ensure good air circulation and periodically place the bonsai outdoors to benefit from natural sunlight.

By following these care instructions, you'll be well set on keeping a jade bonsai that brings good luck and positivity into your life & home as well.
